1)Prefer + wyrażenie rzeczownikowe/rzeczownik + to+ gerund/noun (generalizacja)

2)Prefer + cały bezokolicznik (z "to") + rather than + "goły" bezokolicznik(generalizacja)

I prefer to walk rather than run. 

3)Would prefer + cały bezokolicznik +rather than +"goły" bezokolicznik. (specyficzne pragnienie)

I'd prefer +to have + cheese pie +rather than+ have apple pie. 

4)Would rather + "goły bezokolicznik" +than+ "goły" bezokolicznik. (generalizacja lub specyficzne pragnienie)
